HI! First of all, I want to thank you for taking time out of the day (or night) to read this post! A big thank you to my family and friends for supporting me on this journey to finally starting a blog (it has been FOREVER since I’ve started talking about doing this).

Social media has always intrigued me. Whether it be facebook, instagram, snapchat and at one point MySpace-the ability to connect with people despite the distance is pretty cool.
I am still the friend and family member who will take photos, and post ( sometimes an alarming amount 😬). Instagram is great to scroll, but something about reading an actual blog post always called to me more. I am inspired by bloggers that write authentically about topics they are passionate about, and organically develop a strong and supportive community. Overall, I look at a blog like a magazine and the readers as the community. Even though this is just a creative outlet for me, I hope what I share can be helpful and inspire others.
This is also for the 13 year old me who always wanted to write for a cool magazine!
So without further ado the 5 W’s of this blog:
WHO
I’m Liz, the writer, editor, photographer behind this blog- MyChaiFilteredLife and IG @mychaifilteredlife
WHAT
This will be a personal lifestyle blog. Topics will range from wellness, to books, to beauty finds, faith, travel and whatever else that comes to my mind.
WHERE
You can find me on IG: @mychaifilteredlife and right here on this blog: mychaifilteredlife.com
WHEN
I’ve always wanted to start this blog, and 2 years ago I decided on the name, but apart from that I always kept stalling with the writing. I finally said I need to publish at least 1 post before my birthday this year (2025). I’m going to give myself a year and see what it brings me. No regrets!
WHY
As stated before, this has been a long time coming. Now more so than ever, this blog is something I want to focus on, especially with a lot of changes happening, including a recent move (more on that later).
This platform is everything I would normally read up and share with my friends and family; and now with this blog I can extend my thoughts and opinions to a larger community. For example, skincare items and tips that work for me (a POC sensitive skin girlie), a recap of places I visit or want to visit, the list of books I’ve read so far this year (maybe start a book club?), and maybe include some recipes (mostly from my Mom) that I attempted to make.
I hope this blog bridges people with similar interests, and ultimately builds a community where we all can exchange our truths. on various topics. Or you could just read and support (positive vibes only)!😆
* Additionally, this gives me a push I need to get out of the house, try new things, take more photos, and write even more about these experiences.
So that’s a wrap! I may not be the best writer, but I hope you stick around and see something you like.
